This is about as low as it gets for this keyboard. I finally grabbed a refurb at this price not too long ago.

My old version of this continues to keep kicking so I will pass but really a must have for a HTPC setup. Hoping the backlit keys version of this gets lower, that will be my upgrade.

how is the range on this thing? I have the mk270 and have issues with range when i'm sitting on my couch trying to use it.

get a usb extender if you haven't used one. if a wireless usb receiver\adapter is real close to electronic component, there's a lot of signal interference. by doing that, it doubled my range and i never lost a signal again.

thanks for the tip. hate to think of having to have another wire running from the pc, but may be what i have to do. If i plug the mk270 adapter in the back of the pc forget about it it doesn't work at all surely due to interference you're referring to. in the front usb it works it just hiccups a lot and that's what i'm trying to get around.

It's pretty good, the range is 10m or 33ft.

I have a Unity mouse and keyboard and was getting intermittent drops, I got a 3ft black USB extension cable and moved the receiver right under my TV (but still hidden) pointing outwards and that solved the issue.

Maybe a short USB pigtail is all that's needed to create the separation he's talking about for better reception.
