Amazon Prime Day... anyone else think it's overrated with only so-so deals?

For the last several hours, I've been combing through all the supposedly good deals, but they all seem kind of lukewarm to me. (with the exception of some deals on watches in the $400 to $600 range)

sorry for the rant... Smilie

Dude, this has been awesome. I have 36 items on S&S by itself after today. Don't go for the hot ticket item. Get coffee, diapers, paper towels, garbage bags, laundry detergent, canned/bottled drinks, etc.

Like anything else. If you don't need anything they have (or just don't want to spend money) then probably not good for you.

Second this. For household goods this has been a monumental day! bounce Sixty-four recent orders for me!

you know what? that's exactly it! Smilie

I am too used to super-low slickdeals that I rarely buy stuff, unless it's a FP deal that I find out Slickdeals.net. (must be the lowest price in the last 12 months... or at least 50% off the average retail price) Guess I'm spoiled? Smilie

Tell me where else you can buy an economy size 100 pack of pampers pullups for $14.30 that are not used (lol!)? Original Price $29.30, Subscribe and save -$5.99, Prime Savings $10.49 = $13.49. With fraternal twins (boy and girl), I bought 1 pack each, then bought 1 pack each regular diapers as well since they aren't trained yet. This by itself is $60 off versus Walmart, plus delivered to my door. And that is just 4 of the items I bought of the 36. The key is that I already use all of the items (consumables) that I ordered, which guarantees savings (versus just buying stuff that you don't need because it is a good deal).

I stocked up on the Bounty deal from Staple's last December. There are still over 200 rolls in my basement. (final cost was about 20 cents each big roll)

Couple decent things.. but yea way over hyped. But again, paying for Prime isn't worth it either.

I don't think I actually bought any paper towels, but lots of toilet paper.

I agree. It sucked. It was mostly junk, and the discounts weren't that great. I wanted to take advantage of a credit card deal, so I needed to spend $150. I searched for hours and by the time I finally reached that amount, the credit card offer had expired. It was difficult to find most of the deals using the search feature. I won't waste my time next time.

Update: I received an email from Amazon that they noticed I attempted to use the expired code, and so they are crediting my account with $30, since that is what the credit card deal was. This is incredibly nice of them. I did not contact customer service and ask for it. If I knew how to delete this negative post I would. I have been an Amazon customer for many years. I am impressed that they are working to keep the regulars happy. Thank you Amazon!
