Some people, like myself, do not care for mousepads.

I have this keyboard...very quiet but key does get sticky sometime (key get stuck) battery last for 2-3 months of heavy uses....very good price imo. The back-lid keyboard is white and looks great. I bought this back in Jan 2014 for $70 and still kicking. Key doesn't get sticky much anymore. Love this keyboard

For me the benefits that attracted me to this keyboard are:
- unifying receiver (works with M570 trackball without additional receiver)
- backlit
- stands vertically when not in use
- Logitech reliability

I had to have the K830 version of this (has trackpad), typing on it right now. For 50 bucks the K800 is solid if you don't mind the no trackpad part. The illuminated keyboard was the other must-have for us.

We had a K400 before but it was frustrating to type on at night.

One thing I DON'T like about the K800/K830 is the short timeout for the illumination is 5 seconds. You'd be surprised how often you pause for 6 or more seconds while typing or surfing and the dumb part is you can NOT customize this setting. I'd give these keyboards a 5-Star plus rating if I could manage my own dang timeout on the lighted keys.

And when I see one with a mousepad I say . ... "A Mousepad? ... What's The Point"

Most do not want a mouepad built into their keyboard I would assume.

But thanks for letting us know your thoughts. LOL Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)

Dude you can't compare the K830 to it. The K800 feels SO much better for typing.

Do you ever have problems with lag occasionally when you just start typing?

Dude you can't compare the K800 to an IBM 3270. The 3270 feels SO much better.

But then you really can't compare the 3270 to a Selectric. The Selectric
