...most people take the subways during rush hour to avoid traffic. Cabs and ubers are nice, but it would take much longer to get where youre going

Most people? That's definitely not the norm. Most people do not get in before 8 am.

Works great in NYC. Only problem is most people that work in NYC have to be at work around 6-7.

After taking into account the commuter tax benefit, its probably the same price as metro card but easily 3x slower to get into work. Pretty good deal for tourists though...

Uber is a joke....they're burning through cash because they're imploding,. 12-18 months Uber will be history, they can't find enough low low paid drivers to keep it going.

What are you talking about? 6-7? That's got to be an specific industry time if anything. If that was true the roads would be a complete sh*tshow at 5am-6am and they tend to be pretty damn quiet then. "Most people" would not agree to show up to work around 6-7am.

If you happen to be a person who needs to drag a certain amount of stuff (i.e. equipment, etc) to and from work everyday this may not be a bad deal. Shlepping stuff on the train during rush hour sucks. These types of deals are also very popular for people coming from the UES or UWS to Wall Street/Lower Manhattan.

Uber won't ever run out of cash. Venture capital can keep pumping money into the company.
