Edit #2. It now shows sold out at both ebay and amazon. Mine has not shipped even though I ordered before posting. Crossing my fingers I get it and its not DOA.

Edit, free shipping has ended, Now its $5 shipping. Only 13 showing remaining at amazon. And more than 10 at ebay.

Pep Boys has these Jump Boxes for $10.20 at both ebay and Amazon. They show 98 available on ebay at the time I am posting. Amazon shows 172.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product...UTF8&psc=1

I could only find 2 reviews, one recent on Amazon was a 5 star and one 2 years old on pep boys said it just didn't work.

They also have a Black & Decker VEC010BD Start It 300 Amp Jump Starter for $17.86 It has more reviews 3.2 stars on avg. But 27% gave it one star. 58% gave it 4 or 5.
https://www.amazon.com/Black-Deck...657BGFC18B The black & decker is now out of stock.

I bought the $10.20 one. A single emergency jump and it would pay for itself. I was charged 4% state sales tax.

I bought two which kept the shipping at $5 from amazon.

I checked Rally's website and it looks like this might be the 300amp version. Which should be enough for a compact or possibly a vehicle with a battery just under the ability to crank the engine over. Personally I think this is enough for most people, if you are concerned about starting a car from 1 or 2 volts then you should probably either replace your battery or keep a full sized car battery in your trunk bounce

The version on Rally's website has a usb port but looks almost the same. Not sure how old these particular model is but I think on Sears site I saw some date from 2010. I am thinking these are from a few years back so the batteries might not be all that good.

Looks like they have been adjusted to show $5 shipping now.

I bought 3 items from pep boys last night and all 3 of them were free shipping and now they are all $5 each shipping.

Maybe it was a 1 day deal or something ?

I refuse to believe that the SLA battery in these are any good. Hopefully they can provide a jump when needed after not being charged for a week, a month, a year plus like people really do.

Buyer beware. These might be old stock with dead batteries.
Reviews say amazon don't accept returns on batteries.

My guess is they are old stock. But they had hundreds for sale. Hard to believe pep boys would sell hundreds of worthless chargers and then not stand behind them.

I think I recall that Kmart still has them for sale. But, they were never expensive jump boxes to begin with. I think they were $28-35 retail.

I used to be a car dealer way back when so I remember when the first jump boxes came out and they were about this size. Auctions used them because they constantly had cars that needed jumping off.

I bought an expensive one from Sams Club about 12 years ago and charged it every 4-6 months. It always worked until it didn't.

Out of the blue, my old battery wouldn't hold a charge from neither my heavy duty jump box nor my regular plug in charger. The jump box still shows it holds a charge and the air inflator still works but I don't think it will work for jumping off a car so I no longer carry it in my car.

I upgraded cars and my new car is a 2012, original battery but going strong. But, Id like to have a jump box in the event I need it. State Farm sells me cheap roadside reimbursement up to $75 but they don't have an auto club and wont send service, they just reimburse me If I send in a receipt. Its only like $5.40 every 6 months or something so I carry it. I used to carry it because I drove an old car and I just didn't cancel it when I upgraded. I will probably cancel it when I replace the battery on my newer car.

For $10.20 with free shipping (at the time), its a pretty darn good deal. I assume its a low end charger. Amazon was showing just 13 left just now even though free shipping ended.

Mine came via fedex today. The unit is much smaller than I expected
And nowhere on the box, the jumper or the instructions are the Amps listed.

Id be surprised if its 150.

It has both a Cigarette plug in and an electrical plug in. (My expensive one years ago only came with a place for an extension cord)

I put it on charge but I don't have high expectations for the thing. If I can get a charge out of it, it will be worth it but I will believe that when it happens.

On the bright side, it only weigh 7-8 pounds so its not going to eat up a lot of gas in the trunk of my car.

I will look to help someone out that needs a jump after I get it just to see if it works. Because I don't have high expectations that its going to jump my car off if I need it at 9pm in Dec at near freezing temps.

I cant imagine anything this small working even if it wasn't old stock and this unit IS old stock. But for $10, we cant complain much.

On the downside, I bet it could provide juice for a laptop for a while if not a car jump.

Had I known it was THIS small, I might not have bought it.
