I dont know if this is common but today my data stopped working and ringplus says im over the limit. Then I checked and they downgrade my momentum plan 3GB to truly free 15MB??? They didnt notify me or I dont know if I did anything. But my other two plans are working fine so I dont know what is going on...
I know this might not be the reason forum but just a head up in case you are out using data and it suddenly stopped working

You probably got downgraded due to not making at least one call every 60 days, pretty well-known requirement to use free Ring+ service. Seems like this might be the first time people were downgraded, but the possibility has been there since I first signed up in early November.

same here - got downgraded from Q to Truly Free and then to Truly Free 3
did not make a call since Apr 6 and plan renewed on Jul 11 into downgraded
forgot about 60days rule

That's a shame that they didn't give people a warning that they were going to start enforcing the rule.

Why is that ?

Do you think it's a shame people sign up for a service, that is based on advertising during a call, can't bother making 1 phone call every 60 days ?

Besides, there are at least two other possibilities. Not having a valid credit card linked to the account that can pay for topus if they are required because of overages. Or, a 3 month Ringplus+ account expires that means the user is no longer eligible for the plan.

Because it is a rule that has never been enforced before. If they are going to start enforcing it, they should tell people.

OP and leon can comment if those 2 possibilities apply or not.

Folks, plz, I really need help - writing this from a cafe with wifi! I posted this in the other thread, but still don't get what to do. I am on a road trip with 2 RP phones - my main one and "backup" one just in case - well, I lost my main one in the ocean 2 days ago, so I just decided to use the other one and accidentally found out that I was charged around $10 just for one day of data usage!!!!!!!!! Looks like I was downgraded exactly the same day I lost my other phone, so f****g perfect timing!!!!

I don't know what to do - I wrote to RP and they didn't offer anything at all, just quoted this 60 day rule and said that "I might be queued for upgrade" or something like this. I don't need any upgrades, I just want my plan that I paid for back ASAP as I can't even book a hotel or use a navigator/map anymore with these rates and I simply risk ending up stranded. Who should I contact now? I can't continue the trip without data on the phone...

Can I just buy another Sprint phone in Walmart / BestBuy and activate it on a line with a lost phone?
Or can I activate the phone from the downgraded line on the old line?
RP customer support was of no help - any way to reach out to someone directly from here?
Still in shock :-(

Hilarious! Wtf..Every month, I pull out all 4 phones and make them dial to each other. I walk away for five minutes then return to end all calls. I've been doing this for two years...Its a habit.

if u can't follow the simpliest terms, then a plan change will happen.

Find the main thread or recent and ask a few helpers, maybe?? Rexman? Etc.,..
Find a library and join. For your bookings and surfing for free. Done. I was just in Hawaii and joined the local branch, flew from Cali before that and hit up a library in Torrence. Use your phone wisely on wifi for data and the free PC at the library for yahoo maps, etc.,.. print outs! .good luck until you can get help w the phone that was dropped in the ocean.

thanks, duly noted for future with a promise to do the same thing religiously and even wait 10 minutes, but most importantly - what do I do NOW? I can't wait for months and I need a __solution__ - I already knew that I am an idiot the moment my "main" phone flew into the ocean lol so no need to reiterate it

can I still buy a sprint / boost phone in the nearest store and activate it instead of the lost one on that main line? I heard of some new rules but I have no idea if that is for all phones sold or just for specific ones?

Nope. That hasn't worked since April.

If you buy a Sprint prepaid phone you will have to activate it on Sprint prepaid and pay for service.

No you cannot. They won't pass the FED.

But you can activate them on Sprint prepaid/Boost/Virgin Mobile and pay for service and they will work.

No, you would have to get another phone active on the downgraded line before you could use that phone on the old line.
