"Your awesome career in Data Science and Data Engineering starts here."

"Big Data University is an IBM initiative to spread big data literacy. We believe that "skills" is the path to prosperity, dignity and justice. Because skills are so vital, access to education is a right not a privilege.

Our mission at Big Data University is to democratize access to practical skills for working with data. To do so we need to remove two big impediments: money and time. To that end, we made everything that you need to learn free. Free courses, free access to all the tools, free data - free everything and not for a few days or weeks - forever.

Big Data University follows the "learn any time" delivery model. You can take as long as you need to complete these courses. Whether you are in between jobs or have school, two jobs and a young baby, you can learn a new skill. And you can learn anywhere. We call it @Your Pace, @Your Place education.
"

From LinkedIn review:

"Students can sign up independently at home and work at their own speed and on their own initiative, just as they can with Coursera and Futurelearn or other similar services.

However, IBM also works with partners to tailor course packages to fill the needs of individual organizations. And it allows (actually, encourages) third party vendors to sell on their free course material, while adding their own value such as custom delivery and support packages.
"

Moronic TDers: I am not affiliated with IBM nor BDU. I just signed up for it so decided to share with fellow SDers...

I think people taking the courses can learn a lot about BD. I myself signed up for courses that seem very useful.

Yes, better learn and become knowledgeable about the next big thing along with IOT to remain gainfully employed. Especially, in USA and Canada.

Getting my kids to sign up too.
