Any thoughts on the 27 inch for gaming? Decided against paying $500 for a g-sync monitor.

The LG monitor may not be bright enough (200 cd/m2) but is otherwise decent for the price.

I don't think they can make ti cheap... considering that g-sync literally cost extra and Nvidia has to let you use it. Freesync is not like this and that is why other companies can do it.

I have a similar Asus monitor. Bought several years ago, still works great. The bezel is fairly thin, and the speakers are OK for basic computing and such, as long as you have realistic expectations. Perfect for VESA mounting as just about any size plate can go against the back without need for spacers. It also uses a standard PC power cord, so no external power brick to deal with or worry about breaking/losing...

My only complaints... The stand is crap (again, perfect for mounting using VESA holes)... Monitors with bottom-edge buttons are one thing, but this monitor's buttons are on the back. You sometimes get screwed up trying to fumble for the right button. Minor issue, not a deal-breaker in the least.

Now cheaper if you combine the paypal $25 off $200!

Got two of the VN248H-P for $130X2 = $260 - $25 coupon = $235 - $40 in rebates = $195 or $97.50 each shipped.

Pairing them up with the Rosewill RMS-DDM05 dual desk mount which is on sale for $49.99 after promo code http://www.newegg.com/Product/Pro...6824992149

Note: the paypal code didn't like me having the rosewill with a promo code in the same order. Ordered separately without a problem.

Got the VN248H the other day. Used my i1DP to calibrate it to 6500k, 2.2, 120cdm.
Here are my calibrated settings starting from Factory:
Standard Mode:
Brightness: 46
Contrast: 80
Red: 100 Green: 93 Blue: 93
Image > VividPixel: 0 (Brings the Gamma down to 2.2)
Make sure you set the color range to full if you're using an Nvidia card. not sure where the 0-255 setting is for intel/amd.
