One thing to keep in mind is the height of the tripod. The 57.9" is with the center column fully extended and means the tripod can be less stable. The height without it extended is 48.4". While not a deal breaker, it does mean you may need to stoop more if you are worried about stability.

Sorry Iconian, you're right, i was looking at aluminum.

Question regarding the tripod:
Specs show that the carbon fiber and aluminum are both 3.7 lbs Frown anyone have any experience with either tripod? Doesn't seem very light for a travel CF tripod.

Both Adorama & B&H have the Carbon Fiber at 2.9LB's... 2.9LB to 3.7LB's may not seem like a huge difference but when schlepping gear around... that difference feels like 50lbs

Good legs.

I suggest getting the legs only and then getting a really good ball head.

Yea, I talked to an adorama rep, some of the info is wrong on the site, in the description it says 3.9 but in Spec is says 2.9. In this case, I'm in for 1. Thanks for the post, OP.

Agreed, almost 1 lb is a huge diff.

Heh, the one thing in photography that you want to be heavier/stable, and they make them lighter and charge more money for it. Funny.
