Where did you see this? I'm signed up to their promo code emails and I haven't received anything today. I bought the EG9600 a few weeks ago for $1488. I wonder if they will price
match this new price of $1400

Scratch that. I was able to use today's code and they both came back at $1400. I'm going to the store after work and see if they will price match this new price. Now the question is which one is better. the EF9500 or the EG9600? The EG9600 I got is the UB model.

I don't think they will. They have a promotion on not paying taxes for 4K models but I don't think it applies on theses tvs because they're already discounted. I'm going to try.

ef9500 of course, flat vs curve, ef9500 does full hdr.

I called twice to see if they will price match my purchase from 6/29 and was told they don't price match up against previous purchases when promo codes are involved. They said I would have to return and rebuy, which is INSANE to me. I'm extremely happy with my UB model but very dissatisfied with this ridiculous policy. It's not worth it to unmount it, get all the stuff together, get it in the car safely, just to pack it right back up and bring it back home. I'm considering trying to speak with a manager but the reps over the phone insist there's nothing they can do. I hope someone has luck on price matching a previous Frys purchase.

man the 55EF9500 is the TV I want and have been looking at for a while now. This is still a little above what I want to pay though. If it can get around $1250 for a new one I'll probably bite. Amazon had a used one during their recent 20% off sale for around $1447 so this is a good deal.

Ugh both sold out in Austin.. although their site shows they have an open box for EG9600 but they said they don't when I called :'( looks like I'll be waiting on another eBay or Amazon deal.

I will never go for those items. They may have scratches and dust in them. They polish well before selling though.

For what it's worth, 2 weeks ago the wording said it was for open box/demo but when I ordered online and picked up in store, I got a 100% sealed brand new in box unit, a UB model manufactured in May 2016 to boot. The email confirmation even said it was open box. If you go for the EG9600, MAKE SURE you get a UB model which has significantly better panel uniformity, a different board, and HDR support over streaming AND HDMI, unlike the inferior, earlier UA model. This is by far the best TV I have ever had!!!! Just wish they would price match my previous purchases and I can get my $90 back.
