Might want to fix your thread title, you have the archer c9 listed as 93 and 84.99, and it looks like the cheaper one is a linksys.

Linksys AC1900 Dual-Band SMART Wireless Gigabit Router (EA6900)

i did a search on SD for all post threads on this item and saw nothing but bad posts on it when actually talking about the item (rather than the deal). newegg reviews are mixed. amazon reviews are terrible (recent too; mostly on dropped connections). i later took the router back. there's still tons of them on the shelf

yet this 2013 router thing is sold for $85 still at newegg. i don't understand why the newegg still sell at this price? usually they markdown significantly crappy stuff. can a former owner chime in on this?

Linksys ea6900 is pretty good with new firmware. But it does get hot.

Literally just got the Archer C9 from Best Buy Wednesday night. After using it for a day I will say that it is an excellent router.

I paid $129.99 for it. I wish I could somehow get Best Buy to price match it for me. Oh well Frown

UPDATE: just called Best Buy (since it was an online order) and they entered the promo code and price matched it to $93.49. Very timely post--THANKS OP!!!

Oh come on. Nighthawk is a great router, but for someone that doesn't want to spend that much, the TP-LINK C9 should be just fine. I'm personally very happy with my TP-LINK Archer C9. Bought it about a year ago. No problems, nice range, etc.

Just got the Archer c5 for $45 during prime day. only have 50mb internet.

Im upgrading from a TEW-751DR. It would nice if someone would actually test the ranges of these in a house, sort of like Consumer reports would do. I've looked but can't seem to find any site with such a review.

Exactly. If I had the need and my budget was $200+ then I would certainly get a Nighthawk. However for my needs I don't have a good reason to get a top-of-the-line router. For the cost, you simply cannot beat the Archer C9 in my opinion.

Let me help a few people out there with advice, not about which to buy, but which to NOT buy. The D-Link Dir-859 was on sale for a final cost of $60 last black Friday. I got two. One for my house and one for a family member's house. Both turned out to be junk. I dont mean lemons as in I got a bad unit. It is the WORST router out there for dropped connections, heating up, lack of features, lack of USB, lack of firmware updates, lack of anything that an AC1750 is meant to be. If it were on sale now for $40, I still wouldn't get it. I am now trying to use it as a repeater bridge and it can't even do that. It has become the most expensive four-port switch I have ever bought. My family member has similar complaints. Avoid this "router" wannabe at all costs! Just my $0.02

Own both an Archer C7 and C9 for different locations, while they are solid and have many features, the range wasn't too impressive.... Good but not Great. Trouble penetrating through walls sigh. Any one have better routers?
