I would stick with new for such a vital component. Is 10 bucks really worth the risk?

Goes into the cart just fine, and the promo code applies as well, but at the last screen the cooler goes up to 19.99 and the final price goes up to 14.99.

Not much that can go wrong with a cooler. It's not like it's a refurb motherboard.

I'm guessing these are from people who returned because it didn't fit in their case/mobo

Other than the CPU this is about the safest component to buy refurbished/used and the discount is huge. The only moving part is the fan and they are designed to last many years on any decent cooler and this is one of the best.

Nope, if it was it would be marked as Open Box as that usually states that it can be missing accessories that are not essential to it like the Manual.

Hyper 212 has a problem with "soft" cross retention plate that you slide between heatpipes and the lock to the motherboard. If you bump your case (or ship it somewhere) that bracket can get easily bent, losing all the retention capabilities. It may even look fine after that when you remove it, but when installed back on - heatsink just slides around like not attached. I hope these refurbs are not damaged in that way

the heatsink should never slide given that there is a central pressure pin in the X-bracket when properly assembled
