Don't do that. Turn the main valve off after each used.

Thanks OP. $3.05 showed up in points for me. Needed it too got tired of unhooking hose for kids water sprinkler- now it can be kept on it's own line.

if I get this and I turn the actual knob on and leave it on and close the y connector off would it still be running my water bill? do not attack me lol its a real question

Well if it's not allowing water to flow then the answer would be........ The real question is how attach this to a main valve that you can shut off so it doesnt have to do the work because they aren't designed to hold the pressure.

lol the thing is my actual knob is broke so I have to use pliers was thinking is using this as a main knob lol I guess I can't
