As a employee at a shop that is an authorized dealer for many brands, im familiar with most if not all models out there. If you have a question about any single one, just ask!

Remember: Always buy from an AUTHORIZED dealer!

Frequently Asked Questions:

How do I know the seller is an Authorized Dealer?
All you have to do is visit the website of the product you are planning on purchasing and there will be a tab named Dealer Locator. All you do is click on that and enter your zip code and it will list all authorized dealers in a certain mileage radius.

How do I know what will fit my car?
Simply ask me what your car is and I can tell you what size speakers, radio, etc... will fit. Remember, the cool thing about car audio is customizing something that didn't come from the factory. We can make your car special and outfitted to fit your needs!

Im not looking to spend too much, can I have a decent sound system on a budget?
You sure can, ask me what your looking for and im sure I can whip up a system for you that will fit your budget. Good sound doesnt require you to spend good money Wink

*BayArea will not be held liable for any damage that results from improper installation or use of tools. I am only giving advice to help slickdealers get started on their car audio systems and to point them in the right direction.

Hi,

I have a Viper alarm system on my minivan. Its about 8 years old. the two remotes have been giving me problems (will not open the doors). I changed the battery and still have issues. I assume I need to replace them. I have a question:

1) How do I program the replacement remote? the model # on the remote is 473V.

Its cheaper to buy through Amazon ($28) rather than directly from Viper ($80). Thank you.
You don't program the remote itself, you program the alarm to to the remote.
Trying to re-program the alarm might help but it might not.
Look for the manual: http://viper.com/Support/ the model number of the remote is far less useful than the model of the alarm itself

Do the remotes have a light / led on them? If so look to see if it flashes when press a button.

It's also possible that the antenna has been moved, damaged, or disconnected (inadvertently) or that the alarm isn't getting power most likely due to a blown in-line fuse.

Hey guys, for my front speakers I have a set of SPS-600C alpine component speakers, with the separate 1 inch tweeter. Before I got my amp, I think I blew one of the tweeters and now wish to replace it. Would these tweeters be an upgrade? Would these be able to pop in and work with the current crossover built into the drivers? These are fed by a JL- Slash v2 300/4.
Thank you

Find and compare the specs (sorry not gonna do that for you), if they've got the same impedance and a similar frequency response they should work just fine as long as they meet whatever physical size/mounting constraints you have.

What do you mean exactly?

What are the make, model, and year of your car?

I want to get a new double DIN radio unit for my 2006 Grand Prix. I have a general idea of what I want it to do but I'm still researching how I'm going to get it. Are there any pitfalls that a total newb to this field should be aware of? Are the online-dealers' "Will This Fit?" filters trustworthy?

Hi,

I have a 2012 Nissan Rogue SV Awd. I am looking for a remote starter for my car. Where would I be able to get one? The Nissan dealership offers it for 5 grand but of course, I am not willing to pay for that.

HI All

I have an old soundstream D100 that over 20 years old that just went bad. It probably sounds better than 80% of the amps out on the market. I dont know if i should get it repaired or not. I was thinking about buying one of their reference 4 760 amps. Does anyone have or have experience with these new amps? I dont need alot of power. Im looking for a amp that has tight bass, no midrange suckout, and neutral highs.

Thanks

2005 Subaru Legacy GT. 2 major problems:

1. Radio is very fuzzy/staticky. Where would you look for the problem? I think I read that there may be an inline amplifier located somewhere near the rear of the vehicle that can go bad.

2. My model year has no auxillary input which drives me crazy, and I believe the head unit + HVAC controls are all together. Any inexpensive options? FM modulators suck, so prefer to avoid that. The only decent solution I've found is a kit from a guy on NASIOC which requires that you disassemble the radio. Replacing the head unit doesn't seem to be a realistic option, unless you know something I don't.

Also, how would you rate the difficulty of dash disassembly for a Subaru Legacy overall?

Thanks!

I got the in dash receiver that's on front page today . I have a Nissan sentra 2005. I installed the HU, but it doesn't power on. Checked all the fuses and wiring still no dice. Then I tried to put the stock one back, now it won't turn on either. I can't figure out what the problem is. Any suggestions? Thanks!
