Hey guys,

I didn't see this posted, so I thought I'd share. This was a previous FP Deal in June 2016!

SHELL SHOCKER DEAL: The Phanteks sale price is valid from 12:01 AM PT to 11:59 PM PT on Sunday, July 17th, 2016.

This case is very well reviewed and HardwareCanucks recommends it: HERE [youtube.com]

I hope this is the silent version, and if not, that the silent version with window is also on sale. Hope!

Thanks! Wanted the white, silent version, but good enough price for me and not have to mail any rebates.

I believe Dell uses standard motherboard sizes now, whereas they did not in the past. I think the only issue you would have is with the back panel I/O shield and possibly even the front panel I/O wiring. I would probably just leave the Dell as it is though, doesn't really seem worth the hassle to switch out the cases.

Nice case I was strongly considering this one in white but ended up getting the air 240 for $70 purely based on looks .

For those considering building themselves, I've put together a good summary of recent active deals now (pop in a GTX 1060 on Tuesday, and have a beast of a machine for about $200 more than this Inspiron deal which set this in motion for me. That motherboard deal is hot right now, case deal trending too):

MSI Z170-A Pro LGA 1151 ATX Motherboard $83

Intel Core i5-6600 6M Skylake Quad-Core 3.3 GHz LGA 1151 65W BX80662I56600 Desktop Processor $200

Phanteks Eclipse Series Satin Black Steel Windowed ATX Mid Tower Computer Case for $54.99

GeIL EVO POTENZA 16GB (2 x 8GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 2133 $52 [newegg.com]

240GB Patriot Ignite M.2 Solid State Drive : $59 AR

------------------------
Add maybe a Seasonic S12II 520 BRONZE for $65 [amazon.com] (good choice for above built? TIA) to get ready for the $250 Nvidia GTX 1060 on Tues, then good to go? (I'm fairly newb, so above compatibility need be double checked, will be my first major build)

Above price comes to about $750

Great case. Bought it from a previous deal and it is very nice.

Only con is no optical drive bay so can't install a cd drive, bluray drive, etc

I am using one. It's a mid tower and it works great. Note: I couldn't mount a 280mm radiator on top coz of low clearance between motherboard and the mounted radiator. Had to install it in front.

Today most users will say that absence of 5.25" bay is a PRO, not a con :-)
There are cheap external options, in case you will ever need an optical drive.

If you're going to do some cpu intensive tasks, then the i5 is fine. If gaming is your main objective, go down to an overclockable i3 and save some cash. Maybe go with something used from a community like hardocp or overclock.net for now savings. You won't notice the difference in gaming at all.

Are you talking about the Inspiron 3650?

maybe you should check out the service manual before planning upgrades... Non-standard motherboard shape... Front panel ports are actually soldered on to the board... Non-standard power supply motherboard connections... etc...

yep, that's what's started this journey, ended up deciding to build my own (bought the case and mobo deals today, set up deal alerts for a 6600k, ddr4 and m.2 SSD, and will pay MSRP for a GTX 1060 on Tuesday if I can snag one). Shooting to build before Win 10 deadline.

Please don't use any more of that word "shooting." Heard enough on the news lately.

Anyway, good choice on the case. I have one.
