For $10 more, just get the Zte Zmax2 at BB, unless 5.5" is too large for you

I hope when phones start actually having 8GB of RAM, Best Buy will stop using the ambiguous term "memory."

Decent phone, but cheapest unlock is around $17 on ebay because the cheaper unlocks were reject - IMEI NOT FOUND - common among this new Galaxy Sol phone among ebay unlockers, plus a case and screen protectors, came out to be more than $75 after all the expenses, could have gotten a refurb G3 $25 dollars more had I known the unlock would be that expensive.

$50 is way too much for this phone when Cricket themselves sells 16GB LG Escape 3 or Stylo 2 for $50/70 with port-in, both are much better devices.

I have this phone and the 8gb is a PITA. If you don't use many apps it's ok. Waiting for root on this one. Would not be bad if u could install apps to SD. Otherwise pretty decent phone I like the 5inch over the ZTE but wish I had gotten it because of the larger storage space.

the phone runs Marshmallow 6.01...you can format an sd card to share internal memory with some minor tweaking with android development tools and developer mode enabled on the phone... This is by far a great deal I picked one up yesterday and love it the screen Super AMOLED is awesome.

I prefer the Samsung for the Super AMOLED screen over the bigger TFT screen...plus the Samsung Sol(which is a J3 variant) feels much better built.. I have had the phone almost 24 hours now and love it. (i did have to format a 32GB microsd card(sold seperately) to share internal memory using android development tools to load all my software on the phone though 8GB without a microSD card in shared mode is not enough, thankfully this runs Marshmallow 6.01 out of the box.

This is a J3 2016 variant...the unlocked version of this phone sells for $160+ on Amazon.com...you can buy this and go to ebay and get an unlocked code for it for $5-10 and save a fortune on a factory unlocked version. Granted the bootloader would still be locked but cricket version of this doesn't have alot of bloatware anyways. and half of the preinstalled programs on this phone can be uninstalled via the application settings.

if your account qualifies for an unlocked code for a phone then yes. Otherwise you can buy one from ebay for $5-$10.

Just format an microSD card to share the internal memory as long as you aren't playing alot of intense games on the phone that would be installed on the microSD card then there is no issue installing and running basic programs on the "shared" memory.

Not sure about the Galaxy amp 2 but this phone runs Android 6.01 and can use adaptive memory(formating a microSD card to share memory with the internal memory) I did this on my Samsung Sol I purchased last night. takes 5 minutes and a computer connection...with android developer tools and a few commands in the windows command window with the phone connected to the computer in developer mode via usb port. I put a 64 GB Highspeed Sandisk MicroSD card and now I have 72GB of memory internally...more than enough to do anything I want with the phone.

If your best buy location has a samsung experience desk inside it they can easily format the microsd card for your for adapative memory if you provide the microSD card or purchase a new one.(separate purchase would be required)

The LG Escape 3 isn't a much better device...The Samsung has a much better screen but less internal memory....as for the Stylo 2, yes that is a category above this phone in both size and performace....but This phone is $49.99 without port in. Anyone can go buy it...don't have to prepay for a month of service as an upgrade...don't have to port in a new number...can even get best buy samsung experience shop (might not be available at all locations) to format a microSD card for you as adaptive memory(would require your own or separately purchased micoSD card).
