Marked down to $269 - $30 EDU coupon = $239 + tax with free shipping or in-store pickup -- lowest price I've seen on this model.

Bought it @ $269 w/ EDU coupon. Went back, had a price adjustment for $239+tax. No hassle. No issues. On the Chromebook itself, I was initially concerned about screen brightness and processing power based on reviews. Neither are a problem...at all. Great piece of gear.

I really want to ditch my old laptop and get a chromebook. But, I am anxiously waiting the release of the newer, android-app-friendly models. Otherwise I would definitely jump on this deal!

I have an Acer 11.5" CB that I love for travel but I picked up a Toshiba CB2 on Amazom Prime Day that I was going to give to my daughter....she said the one she has is fine though....LUCKY ME because I am keeping it for myself! Awesome screen and I think this one has the same res.

I got this chromebook 10 days ago and recently got Toshiba chromebook 2 (with i3 processor) on Amazon prime day deal for $279.
Toshiba's chromebook is much (much) better especially in terms of speed...how fast everything loads.. Comparably, Acer lags big time (comparing to this one) and screen is much better IPS, glossy (my preference) and bright.
I know I can go back and get the price adjusted from Best Buy on my Acer purchase but I decided to return and keep Toshiba chromebook 2... I think i3 processor makes world of difference. Hands down the best chromebook I have used.

The Toshiba is indeed much better in term of quality compare to this Acer. I did own this Acer for a short time before returning it. The best thing about the Toshiba is the screen quality. However, Toshiba announced they will stop selling consumer laptop [anandtech.com], so this may not be the choice for people anymore.

I'm confused by these continued EDU deals. Several warnings were placed that your account can get permanently banned by Best Buy if you use this coupon and aren't a college student. So why are they still posted here? I don't believe they are just directed at college students here..

Where did you see people commenting on warnings from Best Buy? This is the first I've heard it mentioned.

I don't remember the thread exactly, but I believe it was for the iPad. Lots of slickdealers reported in about having their accounts banned once Best Buy found out they weren't college students. It's a permanent ban as well. I'd search "iPad best buy" or something if you want to find it.

So you know, Best Buy and other large retailers like Staples watch the purchases of Apple products like hawks. Many people have been banned from online stores for purchasing whatever the retailer deems too many. Best Buy in particular has a very low threshold for this. I'm not saying you or the people who reported student discount related bans are wrong, but I highly suspect it has less to do with the student discount and more with this people buying enough that they got their accounts flagged.

I bought this today without the student coupon. I am in fact a student. Can I show the coupon and get it price matched?

You should be able to do that, or return and rebuy. They're usually pretty good about crediting after the purchase.

Interesting. That makes more sense. I forget how much many slickdealers are into buying stuff. A lot of them are reselling it? Or just buying stuff they don't need. I've only purchased one item from Best Buy all year. So you think I could get away with using EDU coupon on an iPad? I just need to make sure that's all I buy for a long time with it for Apple?

All I'm going to say is that if I were looking to buy one iPad with a student coupon, I personally wouldn't be concerned at all.
