Never heard Monoprice cameras, any reviews? I bought LaView 8x3MP POE cameras from Costco not opened yet.

Tempted but lack of reviews and tech specs are a hindrance. Will wait to see if anyone else has this that can provide a review

Would be interesting what cameras they use. 2.8 is what I would be looking for.
However my previous experience with Monoprice branded hardware was that it fails right as warranty expires.
Been through 3 hdmi over cat5e matrixes.
Would rather buy the Costco Lorex that's on sale for $699 (no 2.8 though) with 8 cameras and a awesome warranty to boot.

Did you mean the Lorex 8 camera kit that's on sale for $700? That's the one I ordered but still waiting for it to me delivered. I think the Costco deal is better. You figure <$100 per camera, 2TB harddrive and 3mp cameras. Not to mention Costco's generous return policy. From what I read, there's no return deadline for their surveillance systems.

discount applied during checkout, but when placing the order, discount is removed automatically. probably no discount for "on sale" items.

They are definitely cheaping out on the short 50' cables and 500GB drive. At that point I'd rather they included nothing and dropped the price.

Either way, it seems a little too expensive to gamble on an unknown system with no reviews. They don't even have a manual listed on the page, so I have to guess on detailed specs and features. I wish I knew if the cameras had the provision to run the cable externally, or if it's only through a hole in the wall.
