Thread Details

these have been in and out of stock across the nation for awhile now. newegg has another batch of the top end for the win 1070s for 459 which is the same as what they sold out for on evga.com but even better due to neweggs free shipping. the 3yr evga warranty is still in effect via newegg.

with 980ti's still selling on ebay around this money in my opinion this is a slick deal. as no other authorized reseller has these in stock or not marked up above msrp.

this is a dual 8 pin card with 10+2 power phase which should allow a pushed OC

If you're going to pay over MSRP, then it better be equal or lower than the last lowest price. Do we really need to pay someone $30 extra dollars to ramp up an OC slider? A clock of 1607 should be universally obtainable on a 1070.

Power delivery is not an issue for Pascal. They don't really respond to increased voltage. A dual 8-pin 10+2 design is kind of a waste on a 1070, and is no guarantee you're going to get a better overclock.

link to better deal?

waiting.........

this is a different card than the last deal and easily worth 30 dollars just for the power phase and adjustable led colors neither of which were present on the last SC deal. evga would also be more than happy to tell you why you're wrong with this vs a single 8

if this is such a thumbs down

please...

show me a better deal. i will pm you every couple hours to check on the status of said deal

You also get a free sheep.

I care more about performance and price. Where is the evidence that a 1070 benefits from from 10 phase power, or the bigger cooler?

The LEDs... whatever floats your boat. I don't stare at the inside of my computer all day.

none of those are in stock., they are all lower clocks. they do not have multi color leds or a heatsink like the ftw or the power delivery. the new cooler evga is using is also top notch with ballbearing fans

so again, where is the better deal?

still waiting

you're talking 30 dollars saved for a worse card and you can't even buy it making any point you were going for invalid. the maximum power draw of the two is your first clue on potential

furthermore 459 IS msrp on the ftw card which is why it's such a slick deal right now, they are in stock and not marked up

look...this is where an auction on one ended today http://www.ebay.com/itm/EVGA-GeFo...Swvg9XftUp

this is also not an authorized seller unless he provides a cash receipt

First try at one of these going from a 970 gave me the damn error message: please power down and connect the pcie power cable for the graphics card. Tried everything and EVGA said it was defective. Tempted to order and try again.

It's a good deal, not great but good.

couldn't have said it better

for people seriously looking for these not just jealous net haters it's actually difficult to buy these things. some online places are "taking orders" and supply is sporadic. these have been closing higher on ebay the past few days

for me this is the exact card i wanted so finding it at msrp so early after launch had me giddy. they have been in and out of stock this past week and evga direct already sold out the supply they had

Just because there isn't a better deal right this moment doesn't mean this is a good deal. It doesn't work that way.

Oversized cooler, power system and RGBs LED are gimmicks. Most vendor overclocked cards are. EVGA expecting $80 over standard MSRP is delusional.

the entire last generation sold this way. the ftw cards were always a premium over base 970/980 cards

absolutely no one has these cards at 379 and they never have since launch. base cards have been 429 on the best of deals

the deal that matters is today so it very much does work that way. waiting months means months you don't have the item. this is the best deal this card has ever sold at period. it's also less than they have been going for at auction. when something is listed at the best price it has ever sold at that pretty much = deal

from launch until now there has never been a better price on this card besides the brief jet deal which was over and gone extremely fast and required more steps

you bottom feeders really need a new hobby

It's a lukewarm deal at best. Wait till there's enough in-stock so prices adjust accordingly and who knows you might even get a free game or 2 bundled with it.
Great card, not so much the price.

waIting means you don't have it

money is not that important, at least not in the since of penny pinching for $20-30, finding these is the difficult part.

finding one at msrp {like here} is even better. i mean this price is already back of bidding via ebay

waiting a few months for a free game or to save $30 is not what i consider a deal. that's months i don't have it all for what amounts to 15 minutes at work. i also can't imagine this card selling under msrp anytime soon which is what saving from 459 would amount to

at the start of the cycle the 970ftw was 369-399 at launch. right now they are 314 via newegg. these things really don't drop that much. used they are going for 200-220 and we now know the 1060 is slightly better price capping these since the 1060 is likely to sell around 269-299 from various manf. 970s should be selling for 229-239 but they aren't yet. the 1060 releases tomorrow

the only ones that have really fallen are the top end cards. the 980ti has adjusted down but it's again simply because the 1070 is a hair better. that's taken a good 980ti from around 650 down to 399. if these hit 349 they may actually be the slickdeal for a video card. the 980ti is still a killer performer

MSRP is $379, not $460.

I'm not sure if you're just trolling or I need to facepalm. so many incredibly ignorant people keep commenting. Go study the market. Understand the cards. Then make a reasonable comment. the MSRP of this card is 459 right on EVGAs page. if you don't understand the difference between this card and the base reference that's problem one. problem 2 is there is no base reference card for sale..that 379 price isn't linked to anything. not even the worst 1070 has sold for that since launch. maybe around Black Friday we will see them selling around that price but that is way too long to wait

This comment here is an example of how you fail to understand the point of slickdeals and the community here. Money DOES matter! People here do wait when a deal comes in. I am not against availability posts myself and don't complain about the msrp pricing when market demand value is actually higher. There isnt a better as of this posting, but better deals are actually expected. And I don't think it will be very long either. This is why your thread is thumbed down. Makes "since"?
