Got it like a year ago or so, awesome little device. Can calibrate/tune real-time based on lighting situation. Software is easy to use. Plus it now supports android/apple devices, you could also calibrate your phone and tablet.

Did you have to adjust much at all?

I really need one but after reading through a few of iMac users experience, most say they don't need to adjust anything. Better safe than sorry I guess. Thank you.

They're talking nonsense. The iMacs don't have even close to perfect calibrations out of the box. They're good, but there's a lot of improvements from the i1. It's easy to see, too, as you can switch back and forth between pre-calibration and post-calibration presets.

Outstanding deal! I paid $190 for a second hand one of these earlier this year. It works great with most calibration software and I used it to calibrate my Samsung 4k 7100.

His often to screens need to be calibrated? Wondering if I bought one for my wife's new 4K Dell screen if we could rent it out via eBay after initial calibration so others could use it or if we would need to keep it on hand

I would read this before diving into the x-rite. I was considering getting it to tune the projector.
