Why the heck would you get a slow ass Roku 2 for $50 when a Roku Streaming Stick (2nd gen) will blow this thing out of the water for the same price (or as low as $35 in recent months)?

The 2015 Roku 2 is the previous year's Roku 3, which includes the faster processor. So it's theoretically 4x faster than the previous Roku 2

You get the promo code from signing up for the daily emails from Fry's.

I'm not using mine today if you want it:

This is basically the Roku3 without the voice remote.

The new Roku 2 has the same CPU as the new Roku 3. It basically a 3 without some of the fancy features (RF remote, motion remote, private listening) but retains all the basic items like CPU and ethernet.

I've got a few locations where I could use another Roku but WiFi doesn't work well. So I'd rather have the guaranteed connection (and higher speed) of ethernet. So a $50 device that uses the same account as my 4 RokuSticks could be handy. Right now, I'm using old D-Link MovieNite boxes in those spots, since they have ethernet. Unfortunately, they have slow intefaces and very limited "channels". The D-Links do offer RCA connections, so I keep one hooked up to an old bookshelf stereo in my garage.
