I'm not a BlackBerry fan boy or whatever, but this phone is very solid and smooth, better than what many people presumed

I've bought from DailySteals several times. Not my preferred vendor, but if price is right they've been ok.

Now the Priv, I think price needs to go down more. Still a lot of people liking them, but with so many players they need to reestablish market share rather than bill themselves as premium.

Nobody around you or friends with AT&T service? They can just slip the SIM to get the update? or did that method stop working?

As for the seller, they don't accept Amex, and I usually use Amex for purchases that I think I might need add'l safety net. Does Visa offer similar benefits now? If I buy this from this website, and phone craps out after 90 days, or I have series issues like KB not working properly, etc.. will Visa cover the purchase from this random site?

Dont buy from this vendor. I had a hard time returning a iphone that was dented up more than what their B stock described. I bought it through Paypal and put a compliant through them to get my full refund back.

Thanks, with ebay you have two lines of defense, ebay then paypal, but with direct buying from their site, it's a bit limited. I really hope I don't regret waiting for this go even cheaper, I really want to pick this up and if it goes down just a bit more like $250, I'll grab it.. Hopefully they don't sell all by then.

Looks like only Visa Signature offers warranty related benefits.
I don't think Chase Freedom is Signature. I have a whole bunch of cards, I'd have to check what is what, but I think Amex warranty applies to all amex cards, or do they also have tiers? I usually use delta skymiles amex since macy's amex is not listed as "real" amex.

My Costco Citi Visa card shows "Signature" on the card below the Visa logo, so I'm guessing it would show on your card.

I bought this phone from one of the eBay deals, and I use it on T-Mobile.

A few things to consider:

+ If you want updates, you need an AT&T sim (for now). Even over WiFi, you'll still need an active AT&T sim. A GoPhone sim supposedly will do the trick.

+ You can now update to Marshmallow using an "autoloader" - google it. This will, however, wipe your phone, so this is not something that you can do over and over again (or if you do, you'll need to backup, restore, ugh).

+ Blackberry is supposedly working on it - in theory, updates won't be a hassle in the future. I wouldn't count on it, but I'd be OK with a happy surprise Smilie

The phone, once on MM, is really nice. Smooth, feels good in your hand, keyboard is nice, too. Overall, I'm happy with the purchase.

I'm always interested in getting one. If someone needs a phone, I think the Priv is a worthy alternative. As a backup phone to play around, I am still hoping the price will come down more.
