I believe you're right. I've read $59.99 as the release price.

Add taxes and you're at about the same price point (+/-), could just wait and get it sooner from the US.

Also keep in mind that Nintendo wont be expanding the collection of games, although they are great (most) 30 titles, that's all you'll get. Still pretty great to have a brand new retro console to play and show the kids or grandchildren.

Placed one preorder in just in case.

A lot of people don't realize how small it is. It is a super portable console for games everyone can play.

You should really do a bit of research on how this works.

I guess I could see it appealing to hardcore fanboys and collectors, or to someone who might appreciate the convenience of it, but to someone like me it's basically a waste of money. I'd rather just fire up an emulator on my PC, load whatever ROMs I would want, output to a TV, and utilize a couple of wireless gamepads that I already have anyway. I actually have an old NES that works great and numerous games sitting in box somewhere and in light of the afforementioned there is really no incentive for me to even go looking for it.

Is this going to be the thing I can buy a bunch of and then gouge people on craigslist and ebay?

If so....count me in.
