I keep mine in a drawer. Their uncovered blades banging against each other wouldn't do their sharp edges any favors. I guess you don't have to use their sleeves as long as you store them in some way that prevents the edges from coming in to contact with other hard materials.

Decent set for $15 indeed. These will last a while if you use the sleeves and don't put them in the dishwasher.

Why do you have to use the sleeves?

I just hand wash and lay them to try on the rack.

Seems like a good deal. Can any user add feedback about these knives losing color or getting blunt after some time?

Gotcha, I leave them out of the sleeves to dry properly and use them everyday so no point in putting them in the sleeves.

I'd get this if they weren't so ugly. My kitchen doesn't need to look like a gay pride parade, not that there's anything wrong with that of course.

Have had this set for a couple of years. Moderate use. I've only had to lightly sharpen the paring knife (though I like an extremely sharp paring knife)

Which is why they come with sleeves, so you can stuff them in a drawer...

By the way, the colors aren't as "vibrant" on my set... I think they might be using Photoshop or something a bit too liberally on these pictures.

Saw this on sale during Prime Day, was going to get it but then saw the review about the paint wearing off...

yes we have had them since Christmas and the paint is coming off after moderate weekly use and gentle cleaning.

Got these for christmas gift(s) from macy's~ all easily deteriorate. The color rubs off after simple hand washing & dull rather quick. Looked good at first but what the heck if you cannot "actually use them"!
