Promo code HPBTS2016NB may give additional savings depending on your laptop configuration. Do not use it for the configuration in the OP as it will actually increase the price.

Upgrade to i7 for +$110..

That's a pretty good deal.. so, $780 for i7 version..

Get your own SSD, they want $60 for a 128gb, ffff that...

This was posted yesterday in another thread..

Realistically, the battery in this only lasts 3-5 hours with real world use... Keep that in mind.. This thing will CHEW THROUGH battery.. OMG

Not bad, would've definitely been even hotter with the i7 (there was an Acer recently that had the i7 with the 960m for similar price)

You can configure this model with a Core i7-6700HQ by spending $110 but in that case, there may be some other models available at $780 price point. So better look properly before pulling the trigger. This deal is good with Core i5, not with a Core i7. Dell Inspiron 15 7000 series laptop with Core i7-6700HQ, 8GB DDR3 Ram and 1TB HDD normally sells around $700 to $750 with various discounts.
However, IMO, the HP one does have a better display than the Dell one which is a requirement for Photo & Video editing.

I got this yesterday with the i7-6700HQ, 2GB 960M, 12GB RAM, and 1TB HDD. I will add my own M.2 NVMe drive.
I used the promo code HPBTS2016NB, an Amex $50 off $250 offer, eb*tes cashback, and I bought discounted HP gift cards from abcgiftcards.com which I used immediately after purchasing them.
HP called me today to confirm my order. It has not shipped yet.
After all cashback, my net cost was around $680.
Would be slick without sales tax, but I need it now.

2GB Graphics card killed the deal. Would have been excellent had it been 4GB DDR5
