Nice find! When I was checking the reviews, at first I though they were fake since they all were around the same date. After checking on more reviews and seeing videos of the actual unit in action, I pulled the trigger.

Can I still use it if I don't have any fireplace to began with? Would it look too ugly? Any input? TIA

I don't think it would look ugly, perhaps a bit awkward. However you can very easily make a frame to install The fireplace into, making it look more authentic. i'm not sure how handy you are but you can very simply go on craigslist and find a piece of furniture for about $15, for example a bookshelf; disassemble it, and if you have a circular saw you can very easily make a housing unit for the fireplace and paint it whatever color you want. i've done something similar with a different fireplace and it looks great and it's inexpensive.

Thanks. Also, I believe it's a price mistake. Should have been $26x.xx, but missed the 2 in front. So there is it, OP u can fix the title with PRICE MISTAKE in it.

It may be a good deal, but not a pryce mystake. Look at the month view on camel and you can see that it has gone down a bit each day for the last month.

Hmmm, tempting. If I hadn't already bought one of those Lifesource LED Fireplace Heaters from Walmart a few weeks ago I'd be on this. Still may.

Edit
Went ahead and pulled the trigger. I can always return it if I don't like it. Btw, Fakespot gives the reviews a legit score of "A".

I have an older 8 year model dimplex fireplace built-in (not the insert one though) and its not energy efficient or thermostat controlled, just the remote with low high off functions

Are this a newer model and better?

"Full heat, half heat or flame only" doesn't sound like a thermostat to me.

I guess so, mine have 10 year warranty and this one just 1 year. Also i went into dimplex site and pulled the user guide and see the operations and remote control are exactly the same i have. I am going to cancel the order now.

Great timing. Last year I wanted to build a faux fireplace for the holidays, but could not find a reasonable fireplace insert at the time. This price fits the bill perfectly!

EDIT: I bought it at $75. Now it is at $77.

Would this be dangerous to place in a gas fireplace?
