Great burner so far. No coasters. Doesn't fail as much as the ASUS ones that are always offered with rebate. Works with Windows 10.

blue rays have been rendered moot by online storage, online streaming, but have a place as redundant backups of data.. too bad that every day that goes by, the high prices for drives and media make BD format less and less relevant! good job greedy bastards.. way to kill off a format with high prices

Doesn't every BD-Rom drive support 3D playback? I thought maybe software was included but it doesn't seem to be the case with this bare drive. Although BD-XL support is kinda new I think compared to my 4yrs old BD burner (but mine still supports HD-DVD too, ha).

What software do most of you use for burning or backups?

Just ordered one for first PC blueray player/burner.

I've been using this burner for a while. I haven't done more than a handful of BR burns (archival copies of music and docs), but they all were successful and readable on multiple BRD drives. I've also burned quite a number of CD's and DVD's with it as well, also with great success (no coasters).

The only thing that has ever been a problem is the CyberLink player software. It required some major updates and it was hard to get the system to recognize that the version I was using was eligible. I was able to complete it, however - wish I had better software to watch the occasional BRD on my PC. Not sure what makes the most sense these days.

My wife's business is a videography company, weddings, dance recitals, etc. They use this burner for most of the Blu-rays that they make. I haven't ever heard her say coasters are coming out of this thing! Sooooooooo, I can easily say great buy. With one thing to add, coasters can be more so from the discs you use, to the burner they are married with. Or in other words don't buy cheap discs.

Edit: Was/is back in stock at Newegg, but with shipping being free and faster from Amazon, we just bought another one from Amazon.

newegg is a publicly traded company now, don't expect great doorbusting deals anymore as they now answer to shareholders.. even Amazon scoops better deals these days and that's pathetic
