I don't think this is the full version, when I activated it it says it's a giveaway version and you can buy the full version during activation. I'm not sure what the difference is, maybe this only lasts 7 days? When you get the key the email says you can only activate it for 7 days so I'm not sure. Time will tell I guess.

It is a full version. However if you do any software update it is no longer free.

Does anyone know if these are updated since the last time they did this free for current version promo? Last time was probably just a couple weeks ago.

Is there a bluray version of this somewhere? I guess you need a BD ROM + licenses of some sort?

This is a direct copy/paste from the email they just sent me after I downloaded it:

  • You must install/register the software within 7 days, and cannot do so afterwards. Upgrades to future versions of the software will be free for the lifetime of the product.

since like 2001 or whatever everybody used dvd shrink (3.2) and dvd decrypter. they used to cost money but now they're free since a long time ago. DVD shrink lets you organize and cut your scenes and decrypter is for when DVD shrink can't decrypt it by itself and you need ,I think it's called bit by bit decryption .just set it to ignore read errors to zero retries. using either software there's only a few DVDs that won't work on it, very few.

plenty of free software out there that has the same features plus more. The problem with paid software for things like ripping and Blu-ray is that these companies need to cripple the functionality to avoid lawsuits by the media cartel. The free stuff doesn't have this issue.

check out anydvd hd ... I assume they're doing something right since they hit so much opposition: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AnyDVD
*Cue legal debate on whether you can backup your own copies of physical media...

Weird, because they make money off selling Lifetime Upgrades ($20).
During checkout it says "WinX DVD Ripper Platinum - Paid upgrades and 7 days registration timeframe - PC". Have you tried updating the software? I don't think it'll be a full product once you update even though it says it is in the email.

i've used them in the past but I think they just remove the copy protection. Don't think they handle the movie conversion, etc.

Same here, I am tired of turning on PS3, waiting for it to boot, using a different remote/controller, etc..etc.etc.. but if I have to, I do it. Otherwise I wish I could keep my rips on a HDD and use those to watch movies instead.

Personally I don't need it converted, even if it takes 50GB for each movie, I have more than enough space on my HDD, I'd love to rip all my BD movies to HDD. Just convenience alone is worth it, most of the time UV or Digital copies have really crappy quality.

Ha nice. On the contrary I don't want to store 50gb per disc. UV works great for me.Ofcourse you'll lose some quality and won't have hi def audio but I can live with that.

I use dvdfab. It will break decryption and remove cinavia protections. You also have the option to rip to almost any format or rip to an iso image and mount with their separate free iso mount program and use handbrake if you so prefer gor conversions.

that program sounds familiar. ill check it out. I guess I'm looking for something that Rips the bd into good quality mkv or mp4.
