It would help if you put the model number and the fact that it's a laptop in the title.

IMHO, the Pavilion 17.3 recently posted is a better deal..
that one has the option for i7 6700 for +110

So, it came out to $770 for i7 a 960m vs 950 on this laptop, AND it had an IPS panel.

This looks like a sweet machine. All the specs are there and the price is right, but I've never heard of Gigabyte. Can anyone attest to their reputation and quality?

Yesterday's HP Pavilion deal had better specs and lower price.

The 950M is a deal breaker IMO. I wouldn't buy a laptop with anything below a 960M.

And if you don't plan on gaming at all, you might as well go with a cheaper laptop with integrated graphics.

950m is equivalent to the integrated graphics in benchmark..

But it still somehow produces better framerates than integrated in games.. hahahahaha

Gigabyte is more well-known for their desktop components. I've got a Gigebyte motherboard and graphics card in the desktop I built. I haven't had any problems, the quality seems on par with the amount I spent, and the software that they offer with their products isn't too bad. I'm not sure about Gigabyte laptops, but based on their desktop components, I wouldn't be afraid to buy one.

Nor would I be afraid to buy a gigabyte laptop

GTX 950M DDR3 version kills the deal as it won't be able to play any new games at good settings @ 1080P. Wish it comes with at least the GDDR5 version.

the 950m scores about 37% better than skylake cpu. worth it for some.

it scores a even higher for than the i5-6200 thats been popular around here lately.
