I like how they highlighted this as a feature.....

Tuner-Free Display

The VIZIO SmartCast E-Series Ultra HD Home Theater Display is now tuner-free. Most households commonly stream or watch live TV from cable and satellite boxes - neither of which requires a tuner, so you shouldn't notice any differences in setup.

Now if you use an external antenna to watch free local channels, you will need to get a separate tuner adapter to connect your antenna to your display.

Standalone ATSC tuners are around $30 on amazon, so I suppose it's an acceptable tradeoff in price. I wish they'd unbundle everything but 1 HDMI port and drop the price another $50.

Just as a heads up, this "display" is rated pretty poorly. Here's the review:

How dumb/smart are these new SmartCast Vizios? In four or five years, when they are no longer updating the apps, or the new version of Android doesn't support the then-abandoned app, will they work properly with an external box like a Roku or will a lot of the settings no longer be accessible?

60hz TV according to the link above. bad for sports. Lots of blurriness. I think I will spend more and get a better picture.

of you are using a roku, the tv does nothing other than show the picture the roku sends it. you wouldn't need a smart tv if you use roku

I seriously think companies like vizio should just start producing non smart TVs and hand over a free roku stick with every tv. that will save them and customers a lot of money which is otherwise spent on developing almost useless smart features. Samsung? that's different story

maybe they should have dropped the price for what they didn't have to put in the "TV"
