Good price. Seems to be more of a mat than a bed providing orthopedic support as suggested by the name. Lots of people like it (50% positive reviews). Negative reviews cite small size of heating element relative to the overall dimensions of the bed (photo) [amazon.com], design and material quality (two pieces of egg-crate foam with heating element between), length of cord (4', required extension), and slippery nylon bottom on hardwood floors (remedied by anti-slip mat).

Ultimately the negative reviews primarily focused on the reviewer being unable to feel the effect of the heating pad on the mattress surface. Several of the positive reviewers explained that this was not a design flaw because dogs have a lower body temperature than humans, and therefore feeling a toasty warm mattress would actually be dangerous for the dog. This does not make sense to me given the average dog body temperature is actually higher (101-102.5 F) than the human average (97-99 F). It does make sense to have a bed at a lower temperature compared to a human mattress pad, but I'm unfamiliar with dog physiology so I'm hoping someone else who has done more research on these types of beds will chime in.

Despite these limitations I think this is a great deal. I ended up purchasing one. Thank you OP for sharing.
