I have this and loved using it. I would make a suggestion to plan to mod it. The fan is REALLY LOUD on both the PSU and front of the unit. I swapped them both and now its fairly quiet.

Nice find. You can also get another 10% off by using a popular cash back site. You will need to go through the Dell business link but once there you can click to the epp site on the bottom of the page. With this you can get 136.79 - (13.6 + 13.6) = 109ish.

Any chance of this working on the XPS 13 9350 now or in the future?

EXTRA10 doesn't work for me. Says does not meet eligibility requirements.

I changed the whole PSU. The front fan is 16mm I think. There is a notebook forum post about it. It uses weird connectors too so just changing the fan would take some splicing. Just a warning... Not exactly hard but more than you'd think.

man I would love to use one of these with my og alpha! I hope someone makes an adapter or a usb version at some point, these graphic amplifiers give so much flexibility.

The alpha gen 2 has support... There will never be usb support... usb does not have the bandwith for a GPU. Thunderbolt 3 does and so do proprietary ports like this.

I imagine dell will jump on the bandwagon and create a thunderbolt version as well. Gigabyte has announced one and along with Razor, which is ridiculously expensive, Dell would be foolish not too.

I wish they would sell something like this that would just use normal thunderbolt port at this price.

yeah I know about r2, but I'm not buying one just for the port....that would be asinine imo. I'd rather just use my og till it feels really dated and maybe buy an r2 then or go another route.

for the amplifier to work with the og alpha it would have to work through some type of USB adapter, it just wouldn't work otherwise. trust me I know the limitations, I'm just hoping someone figures something out because the alpha is a great lil box.

Did you sign into dell?

About to pull the trigger, but I'm pretty sure I won't need this for at least 6 months to a year or more... the GTX 970m in my new alienware 15R2 is pretty great... Should I wait or is this too hot to miss?

Does the popular cash back site rhyme with the popular auction site? It seems like it's only 4% cash back.

I hear you. I had an i7 alpha and it felt pretty zippy.... just wished it had more GPU power. The modified 860m didn't have enough power to drive my 21:9 1440p but for most 1080p applications, its pretty darn good. You can't beat the form factor.
