I didn't want to waste everyone's time with a YMMV deal

I was going to post a deal for the 48" Sanyo 1080p LED HDTV I got today at Walmart for $99, ($398 retail) but I don't want 1,000 people looking for a deal they'll never get and set off a bunch of people's deal alerts in the middle of the night.

That is very courteous of you. Realizing that you found a one off clearance deal that was likely not available elsewhere and not falsely alerting the group. Courteous indeed!

Thanks for the heads up on this alert. Started deal hunting for a TV for my lodge room and knew I'd need a wall mount. No Home Depots that I can get to without traveling a bit, so this works for me! (Now all I have to do is find a TV.)

I am new to TV mounting, does this mount or any of these similar mounts actually come out from the wall and then turn the tv 90 degrees to the side? Or do they just make the tv go out from the wall and up and down?
I am trying to sit perpendicular to the wall where I want my TV mounted and have it be able to come away from the wall and turn and face me.

EDIT i found this one on amazon that looks like it can do what I want
https://www.amazon.com/Mount-MI-3...B002SV5PLS
but it is more expensive. Still wondering if the one on this deal can do this, although it seems like it cannot.

This one cannot.. you want an articulating or full motion mount.

Ditto, also called "dual arm mounts" for most larger TVs.

Just a heads up, I have this mount (it's sold under different brand names, mine is SIIG I think). It is very close to the wall (too close) I highly recommend plugging in all your cables to your TV in advance, unless you have baby arms because you won't be able to easily accomplish this afterwards. Also the "safety" screws are incredibly difficult to tighten with larger TVs- on my 65 I have them u tightened because I couldn't get my arm all the way to where the screw is on the TV.

Other than that, the tilt function is a little difficult to correctly also due to the proximity to the wall (unless you have done this in advance of mounting.

Besides that, it's a decent mount, real sturdy. More than I paid with Fry's promo but at 13$ I wouldn't even think about the few bucks

First, thanks OP, I needed one of these for the bathroom remodel I'm doing and the price is right an delivered with free ship, saves the cost of gas. Smilie

To MrFurley, I understand the YMMV posts. Have tried a few of those in the past, only to get harassed because others can't find them.

And both HD and Walmart can be great bargain places, but again very YMMV and once posted, they clear out in minutes and typically not worth the hassles from others who miss out.

I picked up a nice 55" Sharp Aquos 4K (all bells and whistles) for $353.?? not long ago. I have picked up so many deals since the holidays, I'm even putting a nice LG 49" 4K in my bathroom remodel, along with a Jacuzzi 10 jet drop in tub I picked up for $250 (reg $1,399). I'm literally having to find uses for all this stuff! LMAO

You guys are finding those deals just walking around stores randomly on a regular basis? Or you getting deal alerts from those locations first as well? since I go store shopping like once every 3 months "looking for deals in store" after driving and silencing that time would never be a deal unless I find a big HDTV for free etc... usually all my store alert emails very lame, never got a slickdeal from any of them.

Btw is this "better" than the 9.98 deal from Wal-Mart last week? seems this handles ten inches more on size (npi) but that's it?
