minimum purchase $20?
Yes.

This is basically the way they set it up...
$0 - $19.99 = No Discount
$20 - $39.99 = $5 Discount
$40 - $59.99 = $10 Discount
$60+ = $15 Discount

Since Groupon is doling out these promo codes so frequently now, I know not to buy anything unless there's a code these days. Still, these codes just make their deals what they once were. Thanks & repped, OP.

How did you get 6% cash back?

Found a $10 local deal that one can buy multiples. So I had $20 and the coupon wouldn't apply. Apparently it only works on a single deal.

correct it is only good for a single deal, and you can use the code on up to 3 orders. I also tried it at first on a $10 deal with Qty 2 in my cart, but no go

This is a bad deal then. Unless you hit the deal right on the spot, you'll get less than 25% off. If your deal is $39.99, you only get 12.5% off with $5 off. There aren't that many deals that are exactly $20, $40, or $60. I also saw a couple of $40 deal that went on some limited time $2 off, making it ineligible for $10 off. What a joke.
