What I've seen in the past is $250 usually. That would be a savings of $145 per tower speaker or 58% off. woot

Posted on the FP thread, but seen this linky for "discuss" and gave this one a TU for the post.

I just ordered ANOTHER pair of these, simply due to price. This is my FOURTH pair. I got the other 3 pair on sales from Fry's and Amazon at $99 each and had to pay sales tax.

This sale has NO SALES TAX on top of being the lowest price @ $95 each I have seen.

They have a new model out, so grab these while you can and at the price grab extra! I seen how the other ES models are through the roof now with the new model out and if someone has a single speaker go out and wants to replace, instead of buying an entire new setup, they will be paying triple + on many.

These are really great speakers at this price range. Smilie

Frequency response: 45Hz - 40kHz, Not going to get much bass for these.

Very true, but at the price, you can afford a sub. Smilie I already have 3 setups with these, running Yamaha RX-V779, RX-A750 and Denon 3200w and have the ES80's as the mains. I have the Polk 10"s on one setup and the SVS 12's on the other two.

These are still great speakers at this price range. Smilie

The sound quality is basically equal. The 363's have very good sound in this price range. They were my runner-ups. I picked the ES80's because they are 4 ways, but mainly great sound and the big plus is the 4 connects on the back to separate the low end.

Hope this helps. Smilie

Ugh. I just bought a pair even though I don't really need them. These were $99 refurbished from JBL about 3-4 months ago so $95 new is obviously better. I bought the JBL Studio 180's for $80 each during that sale and they have been good but couldn't pass this up. Not sure how much of a difference I'll notice with these though.

I am trying to create my media room setup and already bought the 999 deal today for 2 speakers and Harmon receiver. Can someone suggest if Themis one can serve as my back speaker if I buy pair?

Don't fret, you made a very good deal here. All else fails, keep these in their box, because they will actually go UP in value! They have a new line out, so these will be totally gone. The ones replacing them are like $279 EACH. So if someone has this line (the ES line) and a speaker goes out, you can sell them one of these for $250 and they still have a full matching set and don't have to change over to an entire new set for a lot more money. Smilie And if something happens with one of your recerts, you have a backup as well. And best part, you only have $190 (pair) tied up for some great speakers at this price point. You have lots of ways to win all the way around here. Smilie

I'm still hoping on the big deal I missed by a few days last year. The ES90's were recerts selling at $99 EACH! They still have those around and I am still watching to see if they do that again. If they do, I'll pick up at least 6-8 of those. Do I need them?? HELL NO! LMAO But I know a great deal when I see it. I could easily change over what I have now, sell these at the price I paid or MORE and be sitting very pretty from every angle. Smilie

If you are talking about using the ES80's as rear speakers for surround, they would really be a waste and much overkill. Your receiver will not utilize the 4 way and ranges for rear surround speakers and they will take up much more room.

The speakers are nice, but I simply can't recommend the receiver. I have seen a lot of bad reviews and even tried one myself last year .. its sub-par at best.

Hope this helps. Smilie

I found the only flaws of the speakers are its underpowered bass frequencies and base does not provide much stability. But still good value for money.

Saw the deal coming and going since my last post. I saw 3 in stock and quickly ordered two. The order went through but the delivery says expected delivery almost 5 days from now even with prime.

I'm not really sure. They look extremely similar except for the rti8 looks as if it might have 2 high frequency transmitters whereas these tower speakers have a 4 inch mid with only 1 HFT.
