Well, for example, this guy has them for $7.09 and has 114944 positive feedback. They guarantee that the headphones are 100% genuine. (take that for what you will)

But if you don't trust that, Amazon has them for $11.99 (Seller is Amazon)

Amazon and ebay as well as woot and dailysteals sell fake ones. They break in about 2-3 months but the sellers offer 30day return. After 30 days you have to deal with apple which will tell you theyre not real. Even the serial # is fake on those earpods

Dailysteals - sells fakes for sure
Woot - maybe, not sure
Amazon - I very much doubt that Amazon as the seller will sell fakes. The thing with Amazon is you have to carefully choose the seller. Newbs often purchase commodities (such as earbuds, sd cards, etc) on Amazon without checking who the seller is. I trust that if I choose Amazon as the seller they are not selling a fake.

Amazon themselves sell fake earpods. Even the serial will check out just fine with apple's warranty checker. The serial is on the cord itself. But you go to apple and they tell you they are fakes. The only thing i like about apple is that when i brought 2 of them i bought from amazon, they gave me a pair of original earpods. But the time and gas you spend in the hassle will make you throw those fake earpods into the trash bin.

Maybe its not amazon's fault but read the reviews from verified purchases. They too sell fake ones.

Have you personally received a fake when purchasing directly from Amazon with Amazon as a seller?

The problem with the way Amazon sells is that they have one page for a SKU such as earbuds or lightning cables, and then many different sellers on the page for the same SKU. But all the reviews are mixed together, so the people writing reviews and complaining of fakes could have purchased from a sleazy seller. AFAIK, no one has purchased from Amazon as the seller and received a fake.

I'm not trying to troll you; I would just find it very surprising if Amazon themselves are selling fakes.

Yessir. First was daily steals, then woot and finally amazon "exclusive prime member price". Fake with serials that check out.
