Pretty good price considering how bright they are and the amount of lighting you get

Maybe if I switch my whole house to LEDs, I can buy some of these and the power company won't see a spike. I'm not asking for me...I'm asking for my buds.

yup these can be used for anything, any season, but looking at with your bare eye that's what's great about led and bad cheap sunglasses are a must.

All jokes aside on what plants to grow with this thing, in for one to help starting tomato seedlings and other little buggers indoor next season. Thanks op.

Googling it shows it's been listed at a bunch of other places as well, which is probably where the codes have been found. Thanks Smilie

Is there any evidence these work at all for plants?

Different plants have different amounts of chlorophyll and other photosynthetic pigments, but these wavelengths have been studied to stimulate the process. Most research seem to define a range of wavelengths rather than one specific wavelength though.

That's all I remember from plant biology. Any botanists or horticulturists in here? Maybe they can shed more.. light...on this topic.

I spent some time googling around and couldn't find any decent data on efficacy. A few blog entries on head to head showed no difference. This seems to be based on nasa research, but until I see conclusive testing, I'm calling it equivocal, and therefor not justifiable. For those of you who bought these, please do a comparison.
