This is a very versatile with 9 computerized preset cooking functions. We use it all the time in our house. Has presets for all the different types of rice. Really easy to use and clean. get size too, doesn't take up a lot of room. Tiger is top Japanese brand and this is made in japan. http://www.ebay.com/itm/291802498936

I got a tiger, and it's awesome, but then again, I also paid $200 for mine, which was made in japan and uses induction heating. I think this is a cheaper model. Also I think Tiger is a better known brand in Japan than in the US.

Hrmmmrmrmmrmrmmmm....

I've been wanting to pick up a Japanese Rice Cooker, and this is a great price. However, I use my cheapy Aroma with medium grain japanese rice with good results.

Worth the upgrade? Or if it ain't broke don't fix it?

I am not able to see all the specs, but since I bought my Zojirushi 5 cup for about $130, this is a super deal. For people who regularly eat rice, this is a great buy. It has a built-in timer. I think the Aroma selling in Costco only has a countdown timer. This is very convenient let's say you want freshly cooked rice at a certain time of day because you can program your set meal times.

Newegg has the same deal with a promo code. Their photos show the back of the unit and it says it is made in Japan.
