According to CCC the lowest price ever was $11, but $13 is still below the normal $15-16. I wanted something pretty small/portable that could still deliver a fast charge and this gets a 4.8 out of 5 stars in Amazon reviews.

Description from the website:
  • The Anker Advantage: Join the 10 million+ powered by our leading technology.
  • Exclusive PowerIQ Technology: Detects your device to deliver its fastest possible charge speed up to 2 amps (four times faster than a computer USB port). Does not support Qualcomm Quick Charge
  • High Capacity: Add two charges to an iPhone 6 or 5s, at least one full charge to a 6 Plus, Galaxy S5, Note 4, Nexus 5 and other smartphones, or even an 80% charge to an iPad mini.
  • Incredibly Compact: The size of a small candy bar (3.8 × 1.7 × 0.9in, 4.2oz) it fits perfectly in your pocket. Recharges in 5 hours with a 1A adapter (not included) and the included Micro USB cable.
  • What You Get: Anker Astro E1 Portable Charger External Battery Power Bank, Micro USB Cable, welcome guide, our fan-favorite 18-month warranty and friendly customer service. Lightning cable for iPhone / iPad sold separately.
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

We've had this one for a while now and it's been great. Lots of power for our phones. I'd buy another at the retail price, so this is a good deal.

I think those of you who are criticizing this deal/charger are missing its value/purpose. It's not that it's Quick-Charge/Fast-Charge capable or that it's got a tremendous amount of mAh for the $13 cost, it's that it's relatively very small and is from a highly-reputable company like Anker. Not everyone needs/wants the highest-capacity charger for every situation. For example, I've had problems with my phone's battery going low while sitting in my locker at work, but I don't want to be bothered by having to bring a portable charger that's too large to comfortably fit in my pocket with me; but this charger is really small and would seem to easily fit in a front pocket or be carried in your hand without much bother.

Basically, the size on this charger is what's so appealing and it's got enough power to do two full chargers for most phones (or, at least, close to it). And for $13, it sure seems like it's worth the convenience and what it's capable of performing charging-wise. Which is probably why it's so highly-rated (and is a Best Seller - read some of the reviews to verify) on Amazon.

So, thanks for posting the deal, OP! I actually already had it in my cart, but I'm too lazy and/or ignorant to even try to post a deal on here, so I figured I would just try to contribute by posting one of my typically-lengthy comments Smilie

Agreed, 2A is pretty much standard (the "high-speed" text is copied from the amazon page). I was having problems with my previous single cell battery pack because the phone was drawing more than 1A which which cause the charger to shut off, so I needed something capable of minimum 1.5A to work correctly.

Are there any devices this small (4.2oz) that can support a 3A fast charge? If so, can you please share a link (even if it costs a bit more than this one).

Thanks. I'd rather take a small capacity easy-to-carry charger with me then a large brick I leave at home.

all of the battery packs that I have contain either panasonic or lg cells. 5200mah should cost around $5-$6, severely overpriced at $12.99.
I have been lucky enough to get 10,000 ; 12,000 ; and 15,000 mah packs for under $5 each (due to pm)
But 10,000mah packs are routinely around the $10 mark now
