I think it's just because it's a less popular brand. And also because you can get a new one for 40$.

:shrug: TU from me.

Older iMac died, so I don't need anything special, and $30 for an MLC drive is alright by me. Here's hoping I don't get a bad one, but I mean, even if it does, it's my secondary system, so no harm done. Thanks for the post.

Micron => Crucial - the flipside is a M550 @128GB will have better throughput than many newer SSDs using cheaper NAND in the same capacity

considering it's MLC 3K P/E cycles - you're still talking 10-15yrs, always a chance you get a bad one - but 1yr wty is plenty of time to figure it out - definitely not for the squeamish
