I previously posted this deal yesterday at noon but got it tagged expired soon after for some reason. It's now open to all, without the need to log in with your "my Best Buy" account.

Popular gaming monitor with GSync, previous Slickdeal low price of $470. Current (7/22 @7am ET) retail is around $499 at Microcenter and $600 Newegg.

Best Buy has the Dell S2716DGR 27" QHD 2560x1440 144hz LED G-Sync Monitor on sale for $449.99 w/ free shipping to home or ship to store. I was able to ship it to a store in a nearby tax free state for no taxes.

Edit: Now out of stock for shipping, so store pick up only if in stock near you.

Should be the same as the S2716DG, the "R" is for the retail version. It appears this deal is for their "Black Friday in July" event (7/22-7/23)

Note:
This monitor has a TN screen which means viewing angles aren't the best. There are other monitors of this size and resolution with G-Sync by ASUS and ACER but they tend to be $100-200 more expensive since they have an IPS screen. On the flip side, the response time for TN screens are way lower than IPS, as is the case with this monitor.

With the right calibrations though, this one can still look great!

See TFTCentral Calibrations page here under Dell S2716DG ( you may have to search for other calibrations online, apparently the original settings by TFTCentral were done with a revision A00 monitor)

Quite literally everything I personally look for in a monitor, shame I can't justify a buy like this.

I bought this monitor at the last price of $469, absolutely love it. I paired it with the 1070

Anyone know which revisions one should expect these to be?

Picked one of these up last time it was FP. The specs are great and the price is right, but I couldn't get on board with the TN panel and low gamma coming from a U2715H. Returned to get a PG279Q and couldn't be happier.

I read on the Reddit thread for this deal that best buy is selling the A03 revision. But I won't know until I pick it up. Can you tell me what changed with the newer revisions?

Why? Ive owned this monitor for 5-6 months now and I have 0 complaints. It's probably the best TN panel in the market. G-Sync is awesome. Smooth gameplay.

I meant spending this amount of money on a monitor.

I think the first version had issues with HDCP, which was apparently fixed in revision 2. Not sure what changed with revision 3.

From I tell, this one Newegg reviewer did his research.

Quote :
Sadly there are multiple revisions, A00, A01, A02, and A03. From all the research I can gather A01 has an issue where it is not HDCP compatible. There have been reports of monitors getting stuck in Deep Sleep mode, perhaps A01 related as well. A02 and A03 have lighter coatings so gamma and colors are more accurate as well as the HDCP works properly. From all the research and reading I have come across the A01 October 2015 is the worst and sadly this is the one Newegg seems to always have on sale. I've scoured several forums and posts and this is the one thing I see in common. In additions there are many reports of higher brightness triggering a coil whine sound from the back. I havent seen these users comment on their revision version but I think safe to assume the A01 batch is just problematic in general. So far I've also had a few occasions where the screen just blinks off and comes back on. This has occurred only during regular internet browsing and nothing abnormal yet during gaming. Also the power button is absurdly stiff. I have to stab my fingernail into it to toggle it on/off.

Other Thoughts: Assuming you can get the A02 or newer, most definitely. If not, then you may be fine with it. I'm tired of returning other monitors and having Newegg credit leaves me to the lottery of which version. If it continues I may need to just RMA through Dell and get a refurb as it seems they are giving out A02's now.

I was just looking at the rog swift and acer predator last night trying to decide which to pull the trigger on. Was leaning toward the rog. Someone tell me why I shouldn't buy this right now. Is that ^^ enough reason to justify spending the extra ~$300 on the rog/predator?
