This model has a huge light bleed problem.

there used to be a time when Sony XBR meant the BEST TV picture. (as far back as the tube TV days)

not anymore... these days no two XBR TVs seem to be created equal.

Of course, a better deal on a better TV than the 810 for $850 that I jumped on!

I think you made the right choice. According to rtings.com, this is an IPS panel with a contrast ratio of about 1000:1 compared to the 810's 5000:1.

I'm also looking at the 810 because it does not use a PWM backlight, so flicker free. I had a Samsung 6200 and it gave me a nasty migraine in an hour.

Looking for a 55" for a relative.

There was a Best Buy Code not too long ago, does anyone know if that is valid & if it applied to TVs?

Is the U.S. Postal Service ONLINE change of Address process giving a Best Buy Coupon, AND IF YES, would it apply to the $799.99 Brand NEW TV?

Any other Cashback offers that would really help out? Discover Card, urlhasbeenblocked, Visa ?

- TIA I Rep for helpful answers!!!!! hug

The dual-peg stand design doesn't work with the console I have selected, damn these 55"/65" offerings with such a wide stand! :p

Hope there's more deals this weekend, need a tv ASAP...

I believe you can technically put the stand also towards the middle for this model according to the manual (see page 14, https://docs.sony.com/release//Re...198131.pdf). However, I passed on it because of the light bleed issue.

Own the 810c, 850c, 900c and 930D. The 900c somewhat better color then the x810c but the backlight bleed is killing me. And j web through almost 10 of them.

I'm glad I'm not the only one stuck with this problem. TV manufacturers are going to the peg stands which make a wider stand necessary. I ended up with the 810c due to this problem but it kept me from going larger than 55.

3/5 on Amazon and the production of this model was stopped in between by all retailers due to manufacturing defect.

Skipping !
