Wait what? Are we in some kind of time capsule? If we are, I would like to replay the MEGA lotto. Forget this NES.

This is more like a cheap gift/collector's item-ish/advertisement for Nintendo's virtual console than anything. It is also super small (pocket sized) and easy to use.

not everyone likes to play games designed for a controller on a small touch screen.

Controllers for phones have existed for years. They even exist in NES style. Literally no reason to buy this thing.

An officially-licensed Nintendo product in a beautiful replica case that is cheap, easy for anyone to setup and use and doesn't involve piracy. Also includes a controller that is all but guaranteed to be better than anything you can hook up to your phone. There are several reasons to buy this.

Almost all of that is ridiculous nostalgia bs. You don't even know the quality of this thing. You haven't touched it. It's a piece of plastic with an emulator stuck inside. Let's not pretend it's some kind of marvelous feat of engineering. You could make this with a 3D printer and a Raspberry Pi. And I can't even take you seriously with regards to your controller opinions. Have you even used a controller via USB OTG? There have been MUCH better controllers than the rickety piece of plastic that is an NES controller.

You want to buy this for the warm and fuzzy feeling of nostalgia, go ahead. Perfectly legitimate reason. But it's an overpriced, useless, piece of cheap plastic that can be replicated in a superior manner in multiple different ways.

Does anyone believe Nintendo will ship small quantities of this? It could make them a boatload of money, but Nintendo makes some strange decisions with their limited stock sometimes.

Given the low price and wide availability of pre-orders, it seems like it'll be pretty easy to get one. How many will be available after holidays is anyone's guess, but it seems like initial stock will be pretty good. Usually when Nintendo does a limited release, they don't announce it on Facebook.
