The low price got me curious so I stopped by Best Buy on my lunch break today to check this laptop out. It's a nice device, but I immediately noticed that the screen is very, very average. I was shocked at how dim it was at max brightness compared to the other machines in the 2 in 1 section. I compared it to the Lenovo and HP convertibles, and it easily had the dimmest screen.

I needed some confirmation so I searched for some reviews of the machine and found Notebookcheck's Inspiron 7368 review which pretty much confirmed what I saw. 220 nits of brightness, average contrast and only 60% coverage of sRGB. If a dim screen isn't a dealbreaker though, it's probably a great deal at $500.

the 15" is NOT ips according to the specs on dell's website. only the 13" is.
there are reports of slower wifi than it should be. read comments for them.

Darn it's open box, which means someone probably lick the screen and put their nasty germ on it. For a moment there I thought it was new.

Edit: Ops never mind, new is 500. Thats a ok deal.

Seriously? I just bought this last Saturday for $550 after the student coupon...

Do I have to return and buy back to get the difference or is there any easier way?

Just take the receipt, they will do the price adjustment.
no need to return and buy.

Is there any complication from the fact that I bought it using the EDU coupon for $150 off? Price was $700 when I bought it, used the EDU coupon and my receipt only says $550 with no indication that I used the coupon. This price is $650 and I'm worried they'll tell me that I bought it at a lower price and therefore not make an adjustment.

you can give a try, check if they can apply again the edu coupon to retain the discount.
if nothing works, you can always return and buy it.

Great price for the i5's. I'm not sure what the i7's are for considering they're still dual-core chips. That price difference between the two is outrageous.

Damn. My edu coupon link doesn't seem to work. Is it because of the iPad Pro deals?

You should be fine. I bought the MacBook Air 13.3 with a EDU coupon and than the price dropped another $50.00 and Best Buy refunded me the $50.00.
