I bought this last summer. For those that want an electric/battery mower. This is a good buy. The quick 30 minutes charge time is great. I can finish my whole lawn without recharging, however for those with bigger lawns, they can edge their lawn while recharging. By the time you are done edging, the battery is ready for another round. There is also a light feature for those that come home late. I don't recommend mowing in the dark, but it is useful for those that mow into dusk because of their work schedule.
After using a B&D plastic deck for 8 years and a Greenworks steel one for 2 years...I'd go right back to plastic. Better sound dampening, lighter weight, no rust. FWIW, I've only used corded mowers because I have very few obstacles. Cordless are ideal for lots of landscaping/islands, but corded is very litte extra work for most yards.

Been reall y eyeing these but confused as to which one is better, green works, lowes kobalt or the ego.
My lawnmower is leaking and burning oil and the trimmer is leaking gas probably due to ethanol errors ion of the seals and supply lines. So I'm in need of both. My yard is less than 5000sq ft

for those wanting to go totally free from electric...the fiskars reel push mowers do a great job for those who want a bit more exercise and not too much lawn. I have an old reel mower from 40 years ago. I tried it and it cuts just fine after a little gear lube.

I also have this mower and really like it. It's pretty lightweight and easy to push despite not having front wheel drive. I also have a small yard, about 10k sqft, and can usually finish mowing without recharging unless the grass is really long.

I also considered getting a reel mower but decided that i didn't want to have to mow as frequently since most reviews on even the well rated fiskars reels said that they didn't cut as well if the grass got too long. Having a powered mower provides more flexibility in mowing frequency.

Another note, ego also sells leaf blowers and trimmers that use smaller batteries which can be put into the mower if you need to recharge the main battery before you're done.

EGO came out with 21 inch version which seems to be better than this one

Here in the link to self propelled version: http://www.homedepot.com/p/EGO-21.../206515944

but it is a good price for last year version.

Here are the my required criteria:

· 21-inch Steel deck
· Side discharge capability
· Ability to interchange battery with other tools including snow blower
· String trimmer that can accept other attachments eg. Edger attachment like this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product...7EE7U53NWQ
· Ability to use the lawn stripping system like this: https://www.amazon.com/Toro-20601...ing+system

Ego's deck is some sort of composite not steel
Ego supposed to come out with snow thrower but currently not available to purchase
Ego's string trimmer doesn't accept other attachments
Ego does not accept a lawn stripping system

Self-propelled was not a feature that I needed. I went with Greenworks Pro 80 V line that has all my required features.

Might consider getting this for professional use.
The cutting time is more than enough, and it can be charged in the car for 15-30 minutes between each job.
Even though 1 out of 10 homes that I service actually have a grass lawn, this would be great to cut a lawn of weeds.
I'm just sick of heavy $400 mowers having their transmission or belt break every time I run over a rock, or stick. And the carburators need to be cleaned constantly!

Wooh! A second battery is $200!
Will have to remove from mower when not in use, as some meth addict Will take it!
