However, i see a brush-less deal for same price http://www.lowes.com/pd/Kobalt-24...1000061645
with one battery and not hammer drill

Brushless FTW ! I mean paying $199 for brushed ones these days is a criminal waste of money unless you're fixated on Bosch, 4ah batteries and this model. Not a great deal IMHO. Wait for DeWalt Brushless around this price once every couple of months.

I bought the Bosch 232A-181 set a month or so back and love the 1/4 impact driver. I also own the DW brushless impact and the PC 1/4 impact driver. I mostly reach for the Bosch. It has much better speed control. Dewalt has nice power , The PC just rips the day lights out of everything so it does have its place.
When it comes to the Drill I'll typical use my 3 speed DW brushless. Haven't used the other two drills much.

I'm seeing a Dewalt Brushless Hammerdrill / Impact front page at $240 from CPO Outlet.
http://slickdeals.net/f/8686251-dewalt-20v-brushless-hammer-drill-and-impact-driver-combo-kit-240-free-shipping?src=SiteSearch

Every Dewalt Brushless Combo I was seeing that was $199 was not a hammer drill.

Also, for most people this Bosch is ~$179 with coupon.

So its basically probably, brushless is better and 33% more expensive when comparing these deals.

Bosch
1. Hammer drill
2. better configuration like rpm/bpm etc
3. 2 batteries

Depends on if you need the hammer drill for drilling into concrete/brick. I am buying the Bosch because it is for a friend who only has a drill and reciprocating saw in Bosch.

Also this is 18V versus 24V MAX which is probably 21V if it is like Dewalts 20V MAX = 18V during running.

Kobalt does have the longer warranty if you will keep up with that. Not sure if this line will be around that long. Their 18V and 20V Max lines were not before they changed to this new one.

The coupon would be the typical 10% one that could be googled or searched here on the site. I will get praises by half the people if I post it and scolded by others for "stealing" coupon codes.

Lowes coupons can be obtained by signing up for their email list, participating in their events, or using the USPS movers coupon if applicable. Any other source of Lowes coupons is probably derived from a mathematical hack that comes up with one-time-use codes that Lowes may have already or soon will be sending to an innocent customer who would lose their legitimately obtained discount if someone else uses their one-time-use code before they do.

Either send me a pm and I 'll respond because mine won't go through for some reason or Google Lowe's coupon codes. Look for reno v o power.
My mission is to get everyone the discounts they want. It's nice to get reps for my work.

I wanted the Bosch drills a few months ago, but I don't like the trigger design. There should be something just below the trigger, to block your middle finger. It's weird. You just have to hold it and try it out for yourself.

I bought it.. and did not feel any design flaw in holding it..

The drill is very robust and heavy [you feel it as hammer drill].. driver is really nice compact and handy..

The best design parts IMO is
- you do not have to open the drill to change the brushes, it is like plug and play feature
- forward/ reverse lever/trigger is quite big and easily doable.. i do not have to find for it
- there is steel ring in front chuck and doesn't revolve with it / keeps the subject safe and scratch less.

for DIYers like me [who doesn't really need whole day long battery runs ], I preferred the hammer feature over brush-less [for the same price] .. i got it for 179 + tax.. which i think was a great price for this robust combo..BTW all metal gears in both drill and driver..
