$499 - no sales tax

Why did they tax me? I am in Houston, TX. Should I sue them?

Denon is better is most aspects especially Audyssey calibration. IMHO Yamaha <> Marantz > Denon > Sony/Onkyo/Pioneer. That's the pecking order because receivers tend to fail at some point in time. Yamaha is rock solid when it comes to receivers. Features wise Denon are amazing. Also receiver is just one component and speakers are as important.

Marantz receivers are now just rebadged Denon's with a $100 higher MSRP.

The Denon does not support DSD audio. It does not have a built-in DAC like the Sony STR-DN 1070. You have not heard pure audio reproduction until you listen to a DSD128 file. Unless your building a new home theatre from scratch, DolbyATMOS is a worthless feature. That's why Sony didn't include it. I have the Sony, it is awesome! For all the haters, I also own a Denon AV-1712

Yeah, not showing up as available online for me either. How long is the promo code good for? I was going to order the x2200 for a similar price, this is obviously better. The Onkyo RZ610 they had for $424 last week was a better buy in terms of features though...

My story is similar; I bought a STR-DN1060 open box at Frys for $299 on clearance. It was defective; sent it in for warranty repair and Sony decided to scrap it. They mailed me a brand new STR-DN1070 to replace it.
