Wow good deal on these. Real wood cabinets too. I've been looking for a upgrade but wondering if these will be too bright for strictly just music.

Nope!!

Polk uses silk dome tweeters and that makes them soft and warm.

Just bought a pair. Also check polk direct on their ebay site if you want a matching(but not color) pair of the surround speakers and or floor standing models. I bought a white pair of the fxi a6 for 299 plus tax.

Generally true, but these are their "reference theater" line and are on the bright side for a typical Polk. If you're looking for a pure music speaker I think the Elac B6s are probably a better bet at this price. These look waaaay better though.

Really good writeup of the A3s little brother and comparisons to other speakers on the market. This article is older and leaves out the popular Elac B5/6 option though.

Soft and warm are not words used to describe a Polk speaker. Smilie

Polk speakers are bright compared to its peers (PSB, Paradigm, etc). If you like bright, you'll like these. I had a pair for a while and enjoyed them, however I was getting some listening fatigue so I moved on. Good buy for $250 though!

Indeed, I have the B6 and love 'em. They seem to be the go to recommendation for this price range.

Crazy deal for these. Would buy if I didn't already have them. Up to personal preference, but I would say no way are they fatiguingly bright, like Klipsch and Infinity are.
