Almost grabbed a couple, but after researching...

According to reviews, this units' usb's 2.1Amps are shared, and there's a lot of humming. Some mention that it's a chinese OEM that APC has just put their label on it.

I temper my expectations for an $8 product

I see this as a personal device charging a phone & headset each night. 2.1 amps shared is just fine for that.

I would expect some low range humming if you plug in a device that is mostly charged. I checked and can only hear something if I put my ear very close to it.

It may very well be a "Chinese OEM" device as are almost all of today's consumer grade power products. I seriously doubt that Schneider Electric (or others) would dedicate design staff to these lower end products.
