Okay you TV guru's, which TV is right for me?

nfg1984 420 121 July 25, 2016 at 01:00 PM
Where: Living Room

Current Audio Setup: Yamaha RX-V679BL receiver 3.0 with ELAC F5 x2 and C5

Peripherals: Roku 4, Oppo Blu-Ray, Verizon FiOS cable box

Requirements: > 64", preferably 70", HDR10/Dolby Vision

Budget: ~$2,000 +/- $300

So, tell me what is the best model I should look for. Smart capability, audio quality, and amount of extra HDMI ports on the TV all mean nothing at me, for reasons outlined above. All I want is size and picture quality.

Currently looking at Costco's Samsung KS8000 65" for $2,200, just based on the picture quality I saw in-store. What beats that?

Samsung and their annoying as hell pop-up messages are enough for me to never buy one of their TVs again. How many damn times do I have to click the OK button to acknowledge that the Skype service is being discontinued!?!?!?!?!?!?!? Every time I turn the TV on for a month and a half apparently!

Can't you find a LG OLED for around that? Oh, I guess only a 60" for that much $.

Nope, no OLED's for under 2.5k in that size in my search thus far. The only other tv from my search that looks like is worth considering is the 70" Vizio M70-D3.

Yea... That doesn't make anything I said inaccurate, thank you though. As stated my max budget is $2,300 and I haven't seen any 65"+ under $2,500.
